Sri Krishna Jayanthi (Aug-Sept)

Celebrate the birthday of Krishna.

Our Household Tradtion:
Make several snacks before hand ( tengol. muruku, muchhorae, coconut burphi, mysore paks, kadalae kai undae, sajjappu) Hang these on a string separately and decorate a altar/pandal/cappara. You can also tie fruits like oranges, apples, pears like. The legs of the altar can be decorated with small banana plants or alternatively with locally grown flower plants, berry filled branches, flower garlands, berry garlands...imagination is the limit to decorate the alter. Place a Krishna idol in a swing, or just place a Krishna photo, idol in the altar. Or you can place the Krishna idol on a table, place a variety of snacks in a plate and make a make shift altar for pooja.
